{Newcastle Children Photographer} Madelyn & Brock

I’m posting this session in a flurry of packing, surrounded by boxes, with my Charlie-Bear asleep in my arms, wrapped in a towel (he didn’t nap today, then fell asleep straight after his shower). Tomorrow we get the keys to our new house! Husband’s been away for work the whole of this week, and there are rampant bushfires both where he is and around here that might prevent him getting home tomorrow, but everything is still going very smoothly. I have no idea how I’m going to get everything packed, but if worse come to worse, we can still just chuck stuff in the car, unpacked. It’s Newcastle, we’re only moving 20 minutes away…

So the Mummy of these two little cuties, Madelyn, 3, and Brock, 1, happened to be my best friend in primary school, but we literally hadn’t seen each other in 21 years, so it was amazing to see her again. I always remember Megan being so funny and kind, and, of course, she still is. I didn’t have many friends at our tiny primary school, but Megan was always there for me. Her Mum, who used to look after me before school quite a lot, came to the session as well, so it was really lovely to see her again too. One little thing that really stood out to me as a bit special was Megan remembering the name of my old (long ago, dead) cat, Tosca, after all this time. I barely even remember my own childhood pets’ names. Good memory!

I have also booked a session (in my new studio!) with Megan’s sister, Lauren, and her two gorgeous girls in a few weeks time, which I’m really looking forward to.

So I wanted to get these posted before we spend the weekend moving and I barely have time next week. Enjoy!

Back to the packing…
