This divine and long-awaited for little miss arrived to her Mummy and Daddy, Priscilla and Dave on 29 January at 6:45am. Priscilla had a pretty quiet and relatively easy labour – she slept for a large portion after an epidural, and then woke up to give birth. Lucky girl.
Elliana weighed in at 3.1kg and was 51cm long, and for such a (relatively) petite little girl. she can feed like a champion. Priscilla and Dave are doing an amazing job with a newborn that feeds for up to five hours at a time, and rarely sleeps up to two hours at a time. Elli was quite a challenging newborn shoot. We were shooting for a good three hours, and Elli was breastfeeding for approximately two of those hours. Other portions of time were taken up wiping up exploding newborn poos and spews. I’m pretty sure I washed every terry towelling nappy I own, plus all of my blankets. And it was totally worth it to shoot such a gorgeous little creature. Priscilla hails originally from Ghana, and Elli has inherited some amazing lips from her Mummy. She is just so beautiful, you could look at her all day.
So here she is, Elliana, the African princess.
